Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has publicly criticized social media personalities Carter Efe and Peller for a recent livestream in which they violently damaged each other’s vehicles.
The stunt, which aired on Saturday night, saw the duo smashing car windscreens with stones, sparking widespread condemnation online for promoting toxic and dangerous behaviour.
During his own livestream, Boniface called Carter Efe directly to express his disapproval. “What you and Peller did is rubbish. You are currently on livestream, I want to talk to you privately. Let me know when you are done streaming,” he told the influencer.
Reports indicate that Carter Efe appeared remorseful following the footballer’s intervention.
The incident continues to attract backlash from social media users, many of whom cautioned that such violent stunts could be fatal, citing similar incidents in other countries that led to serious injuries or deaths.
Boniface’s condemnation highlights growing concern over the influence of social media content on public behaviour, particularly when violent acts are showcased for entertainment.
