Nigerian content creator and activist VeryDarkMan has expressed fears about his safety following a public apology from socialite King Mitchy.
The influencer suggested that the apology may have deeper implications, describing it as a possible “decoy” meant to mislead the public.
Mitchy’s Apology
King Mitchy had earlier addressed VeryDarkMan in a video message, acknowledging his advocacy and apologising for previously confronting him during an earlier dispute.
“To VeryDarkMan, my brother, I see what you’re fighting for. You’re fighting for Nigeria and we can make Nigeria a better place,” she said.
“I’m sorry for coming at you like that. Maybe now I understand you better.”
She also noted that the activist needs more supporters rather than critics in his campaign for social change.
Activist Questions Motive
However, reacting to the apology in a video posted on Instagram on Sunday, VeryDarkMan claimed the development raised new concerns for him.
He referenced a past incident involving influencer Lege Miami, who had posted a video about him before deleting it and reportedly saying he received calls “from above.”
According to VeryDarkMan, the recent apology has made him suspicious about what may be happening behind the scenes.
“This apology from King Mitchy cannot just come from nowhere,” he said.
Allegations and Warning
The activist further alleged that he may have been specifically targeted and warned that certain individuals should be held responsible if anything happens to him.
He mentioned both Mitchy and Seyi Tinubu while expressing his concerns.
“If anything happens to me, hold Mitchy and Seyi Tinubu responsible,” he said, adding that the apology appeared to him like a move intended to “clear the air” before possible actions against him.
Claims of Intimidation
VeryDarkMan also claimed that messages meant to intimidate him were passed through people who know him during the earlier dispute.
He said these messages were eventually relayed to him.
The activist further warned against potential attempts to implicate him in criminal activities, insisting that any such allegations should be treated as a setup.
“If you hear they found drugs in my car or say I’m involved in fraud or money laundering, it’s a setup,” he said.
The controversy has sparked widespread debate online, with supporters and critics weighing in on the ongoing tension among the personalities involved.
