Popular Nigerian influencer VeryDarkMan has criticised actress Tonto Dikeh following a viral video showing her leading a deliverance session during a visit to a school.
The incident occurred on Friday, March 6, 2026, after Dikeh shared several clips on her page on Instagram documenting what she described as a spiritual encounter during an evangelism outreach at the school.
In the videos, the actress explained that as she and her team were preparing to leave the school premises, she sensed what she described as a “spirit of death” in the area.
According to Dikeh, she alerted members of her team, prompting them to begin praying. The prayers reportedly developed into a deliverance session involving some of the students present.
VeryDarkMan Reacts
Reacting to the clips circulating online, VeryDarkMan condemned the event and urged the actress to refrain from involving children in what he described as dramatic spiritual displays on social media.
He also warned Dikeh not to return to the school, stating that the institution is located within his community.
The influencer suggested that instead of organising public deliverance sessions, the actress should focus on providing tangible support to the students.
VeryDarkMan also pointed to his personal contributions to the school, claiming he had previously renovated parts of the facility in an effort to encourage and support the students.
In a strongly worded post on Instagram, he wrote:
“With all due respect to Tonto Dikeh… this is a warning, do not come to my area to do this again… Na only poor man children good to test your powers. Leave my area kids alone. We want to raise kids with real-life orientation… prayers are good, however without work prayers are not useful. Take your new content somewhere else. Leave ghetto kids alone.”
The video has since sparked debate online, with social media users divided over the role of public evangelism activities in schools and the ethics of sharing such moments involving students on social media.
