Former Inter Milan striker Nicola Ventola has said that Ademola Lookman suffered an “injustice” during the summer transfer window after his move from Atalanta to Inter Milan fell through.
According to Ventola, the Nigerian forward was given assurances that were not kept.
“Personally, Lookman, in my opinion, is the one who suffered an injustice in the summer,” the 47-year-old told Viva el Futbol, as quoted by FCInter1908. “After two years, there have been promises not fulfilled.”
Lookman was reportedly eager to join Inter Milan and even handed in a transfer request while skipping training sessions in an effort to push through the deal. However, the move did not materialize, and he remained at Atalanta.
The 27-year-old joined Atalanta from RB Leipzig in 2022 and played a key role in helping the Serie A side win the UEFA Europa League last season.
