Fashion designer Veekee James has revealed a key rule in her marriage, stating that her husband, Femi Atere, is not permitted to have a female best friend.
Speaking on the Off the Top podcast with VJ Adams, James explained that she considers herself the closest woman to her husband and believes this boundary helps maintain harmony in their home.
“A man can have a female best friend, but my man Femi Atere can never have one. I’m his only best friend,” she said. “My brother can have a bestie if his wife allows it, but my husband can never have a female bestie.”
Veekee also discussed the challenges of facing harsh online criticism, including false accusations that she “snatched” her husband from someone else, which negatively affected her mental health.
The couple got engaged in late 2023 and tied the knot on February 10, 2024, marking the start of a marriage that clearly prioritizes trust and mutual respect.
