A 22-year-old man has died in Kabuchai Constituency, Bungoma County, while taking part in the ongoing Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) recruitment exercise.
The deceased, a student at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology in Kakamega, reportedly collapsed during a running session at the recruitment centre.
Bungoma Central Sub-County Police Commander David Sain confirmed the incident, saying the young man was rushed to Chwele Sub-County Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
The nationwide KDF recruitment exercise, which began on October 13, is expected to conclude on October 25.
