The Unity Advocacy Group (UAG) has praised the troops of the Armed Forces of Nigeria for their decisive actions in combating banditry in the North West region.
In a recent operation, military forces successfully neutralized over 80 armed bandits attempting to infiltrate Kebbi State from the Zamfara border.
This achievement was confirmed in a press release signed by UAG Convener, Ifeanyi Aigbedion.
In addition to this significant success, troops from Operation Hadin Kai engaged in fresh encounters along the Gamboru-Dikwa-Marate axis in Borno, where they neutralized 10 terrorists and recovered critical arms, ammunition, and equipment.
Moreover, the same operation led to the neutralization of four logistics suppliers associated with Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during a series of well-coordinated ambush operations in Konduga Local Government Area, Borno State.
The UAG also expressed its support for the appointment of Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede as the new Chief of Defence Staff, lauding his track record of professionalism during his brief tenure as Chief of Army Staff.
The Group is confident that under his leadership, the Armed Forces will continue to robustly address the challenges of insurgency and banditry faced in the country.
“We commend the appointment of Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede as the new Chief of Defence Staff. We believe that during his tenure, the Armed Forces of Nigeria will persist in dealing decisively with the forces of chaos threatening the nation,” UAG stated. “The new CDS is well-tested and capable of leading our troops as we confront these pressing security issues.”
