The United Opposition has escalated its attacks on President William Ruto, amplifying its “one-term” campaign slogan while vowing to safeguard its votes in the next General Election.
The coalition accuses the government of plotting to rig the polls by compromising the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
Now rebranded as the “United Alternative Government,” the outfit converged at PCEA Embakasi Parish to launch what it termed a high-stakes push against the ruling administration.
The pulpit has increasingly become a contested political arena. Days after President Ruto rallied sections of the clergy to his side, the opposition hit back, portraying the Kenya Kwanza administration as hostile to both the church and ordinary citizens.
Traversing Utawala and Kware, the coalition, anchored by Rigathi Gachagua, Fred Matiang’I, Martha Karua and Eugene Wamalwa, vowed to build a juggernaut that leaves no room for their rivals.
The momentum now shifts from the city to the hills. The united front heads to the Gusii region for a three-day blitz across Kisii and Nyamira starting Monday.
