Nollywood veteran Ugezu J. Ugezu has cautioned men against believing that financial support to women guarantees marriage.
In a recent Instagram post, the actor stressed that sponsoring a woman’s education or assisting her personal development is not a ticket to lifelong commitment. According to him, such gestures are part of life’s responsibilities and should not be tied to expectations of marriage.
“Paying the school fees of a maiden and supporting her financially does not mean you must marry her,” Ugezu wrote. “There are things a man must do and leave for the universe. If she finally says no…walk away. Tomorrow will be better.”
He emphasized that relationships and marriage should be grounded in love, respect, and mutual consent. Ugezu further advised men to accept a woman’s decision if she chooses not to continue with a relationship, urging them to move on gracefully.
“Life is full of new opportunities,” he added, encouraging patience, maturity, and faith when navigating relationships.
The actor’s remarks have sparked conversations online, with many applauding his perspective on respect and personal choice in modern relationships.
