The Uganda national team, Cranes, have landed in Casablanca, Morocco, as they begin the final phase of their preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
A delegation of 17 players, alongside members of the technical crew and team officials, departed Entebbe International Airport, Kampala, on Sunday night via Qatar Airways and touched down in Casablanca early Monday morning.
The remaining 13 invited players are expected to link up with the squad later in the week as the camp fully takes shape.
As part of their final build-up to AFCON 2025, Uganda will undergo an 11-day intensive training camp in Morocco, which will also feature two international friendly matches designed to sharpen the squad’s tactical and match readiness.
The East African side have been drawn in Group C, where they will face Nigeria, Tunisia, and Tanzania in what is expected to be a highly competitive group.
Under head coach Put, the Cranes will kick off their AFCON 2025 campaign against Tunisia, also known as the Carthage Eagles, at the Complexe Sportif de Fès on Tuesday, December 23.
This final camp is seen as crucial to Uganda’s AFCON Morocco 2025 preparations, as they target a strong showing on the continental stage.
