Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has sparked debate after sharing her views on what she believes is the leading cause of divorce.
In a post on her Instagram page, the actress asserted that men are largely responsible for failed marriages, attributing 95 percent of marital breakdowns to the male gender.
“Men contribute 95 per cent in failed marriages,” she wrote. “Many marriages fail because a significant number of men neglect, cheat, devalue, emotionally harm, emotionally stress, or betray their wives.”
Ogbodo also pointed to what she described as a lack of accountability in relationships and within society, suggesting that this absence of responsibility enables unhealthy patterns to continue.
The actress, who is currently in her second marriage, tied the knot with Boby Maris in October 2023. Her first marriage to Norway-based football agent Ato Ubby in 2013 ended less than a year after it began.
Her comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with supporters and critics weighing in on the broader conversation about responsibility and the dynamics of modern marriages.
