Flying Eagles head coach Aliyu Zubairu has promised that Nigeria will “go all out” for victory when they face Saudi Arabia at the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The Group F encounter is scheduled for Friday morning at the Estadio Fiscal in Talca, with kick-off at 12:00 am Nigerian time.
Nigeria suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Norway in their opening match on Monday, despite creating several chances. Another setback could leave the seven-time African champions facing an early exit from the tournament in Chile.
Zubairu urged supporters to keep faith with the team, assuring them of a strong response.
“I’ve said it time without number, they should pray for us, we are not going to let them down. They should put the first match behind them, we are not happy about it too,” he told reporters ahead of the game.
Nigeria, who last reached the U-20 World Cup final in 2005, are seeking their first title at the competition.
