Former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has offered a surprising prediction for the highly anticipated bout between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul next week, stating he expects the fight to last the full eight rounds.
Joshua and Paul are set to face off next Friday, December 19, 2025, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. The controversial contest is officially sanctioned for eight three-minute rounds, with the fighters wearing 10oz gloves.
Fury, who initially suggested earlier this year that Paul could knock out Joshua, has now changed his forecast as the fight approaches.
“I think it will go the distance,” Fury told newsmen.
“I think it will be a move around and a points job, absolutely.
“I understand people’s concerns but they have to start believing in Jake.
“They don’t believe because they can’t get their head around how he beat those guys.”
The “Gypsy King’s” updated prediction contrasts sharply with the general expectation in the boxing world, where most oddsmakers and pundits anticipate a quick knockout victory for the far more experienced former world champion, Anthony Joshua.
