The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State has confirmed the defection of two members of the State House of Assembly from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The lawmakers, Hon. Sulaiman Hassan Bosko of Mafara I Constituency and Hon. Nura Dahiru of Birnin Magaji Constituency, officially joined the PDP, a move the party described as a reflection of growing internal challenges and leadership issues within the APC in the state.
In a statement signed by PDP’s publicity secretary, Halliru Andi, the party said the defectors were drawn by the prospect of stability, progress, and effective leadership. The lawmakers were also reportedly inspired by the governance style of Governor Dauda Lawal, whose initiatives in security, infrastructure, transparency, and overall administration have earned widespread acclaim.
“The PDP Zamfara State Chapter warmly welcomes Hon. Sulaiman Hassan Bosko and Hon. Nura Dahiru into the party,” the statement read. “Their decision strengthens our movement and reinforces public confidence in the PDP as the party best positioned to deliver genuine development and good governance.”
The party assured the new members of full integration and collaboration as it continues its work toward a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Zamfara State.
