US President Donald Trump has issued a fresh 48-hour ultimatum to Iran, warning of severe consequences if Tehran fails to reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
The warning was contained in a post shared on the official White House account on X on Saturday, escalating tensions in the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran.
“Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT. Time is running out – 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them. Glory be to GOD!” Trump said.
The statement reinforces an earlier deadline issued by the US president, demanding that Iran either reach a deal or restore access to the vital global shipping route.
The Strait of Hormuz, a key maritime chokepoint through which a significant portion of the world’s oil supply passes, has become central to the escalating geopolitical crisis.
Trump’s latest remarks mark a sharp intensification of rhetoric as hostilities between both countries continue, with diplomatic efforts yet to yield a breakthrough.
Recent developments indicate that the ultimatum comes amid a broader conflict that has disrupted global oil flows and heightened fears of further military escalation.
