US President Donald Trump has dismissed reports suggesting that the United States deployed B-1 bombers near Venezuela to escalate military pressure on the South American nation.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Trump described the claims as “false,” though he acknowledged that Washington remained “very unhappy with Venezuela.”
His comments came in response to a report published earlier the same day by The Wall Street Journal, which alleged that US Air Force B-1 bombers had been flown near Venezuelan airspace.
The White House and Pentagon have not issued further statements regarding the report.
