Troops of the Joint Task Force (North-East), operating under Operation Hadin Kai, have intensified their crackdown on insurgent networks, arresting suspected collaborators and intercepting drones and other logistics in coordinated operations across Adamawa and Borno states.
In a statement released in Maiduguri, the Theatre Command’s Media Information Officer, Lt. Col. Sani Uba, disclosed that troops of Sector 4 under the 28 Task Force Brigade, working alongside local vigilantes and hunters, apprehended a 28-year-old suspect, Ismail Muhammed, in the Visik General area of Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State.
The military described Muhammed as a logistics supplier to insurgents. Items recovered from him included an AK-47 magazine, rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, military accoutrements, and assorted food supplies. He is currently in custody and undergoing further investigation.
In a separate operation in Madagali Local Government Area, troops launched an ambush along the Visik River line, where a terrorist commander identified as Abdullahi Mafa was neutralised. An AK-47 rifle and a loaded magazine were recovered during the encounter.
Acting on credible intelligence, troops also arrested a 64-year-old suspect, Dauda Gubula, at Madagali Motor Park. He is alleged to be a terrorist collaborator and drone supplier. Recovered from him were two aerial drones, related accessories, and 20 solar power banks.
According to the military, the drones were intended for weaponisation and operational deployment by insurgents.
Meanwhile, in Borno State, troops in Sector 2, in collaboration with local vigilantes and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), repelled insurgent activity in Ngamdu.
During the operation, a suspected informant attempting to breach defensive positions was neutralised, and additional logistics items were seized.
The operations are part of sustained efforts by Operation Hadin Kai to dismantle insurgent supply chains, disrupt logistics networks, and strengthen security across Nigeria’s North-East, where remnants of Boko Haram and affiliated groups continue to pose threats.
Military authorities reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining offensive and intelligence-driven operations aimed at restoring lasting peace and stability to the region.
