Nollywood star Toyin Abraham has voiced strong concern over the country’s worsening security situation following fresh attacks and kidnappings in Kwara and Kebbi states.
Her reaction comes after gunmen stormed a church event in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, killing three people and abducting several worshippers on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred just hours after 25 schoolgirls were kidnapped from a secondary school in Kebbi State on Monday, November 17, 2025.
The wave of violence has triggered widespread outrage, with some Nigerians, including public figures, calling for President Bola Tinubu to resign over what they describe as the government’s failure to protect citizens.
Sharing her thoughts in an emotional Instagram post, Abraham questioned how families can recover from such brutality. She described the distress felt by mothers across the country, saying the fear that comes with raising children in an unsafe environment “sits deep in our bones.”
She reflected on the viral video of the Kwara attack and the anguish of parents whose daughters were taken in Kebbi, emphasizing that these acts of terror strike at the core of community life.
“Terrorism and religious extremism are tearing at the fabric of our communities,” she wrote. “These attackers are not just targeting villages; they are threatening the very ideas of safety, childhood and peace.”
The actress also raised questions about how society can protect its most vulnerable when violence continues unchecked, asking, “How do we confront a world where innocent souls are kidnapped and killed in the name of hatred?”
Her comments add to the swelling chorus of frustration as Nigerians demand stronger, more effective action against insecurity nationwide.
