Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has issued a public warning to an individual allegedly impersonating her on TikTok and using her identity to defraud unsuspecting fans.
In a video message shared online, the actress accused the impersonator of posing as her, reposting her content, and soliciting money under false pretences. She said the matter had already been reported to security agencies and that efforts were underway to track the suspect.
Dikeh expressed determination to see the case through, warning that she would pursue legal action to ensure the impersonator is prosecuted.
According to the actress, the impersonation goes beyond fan activity, alleging that the individual deliberately presents herself as the real Tonto Dikeh to deceive members of the public.
“I know my impersonator is a girl because we have been trailing you, and the police are on you,” Dikeh said in the video.
She further alleged that the suspect has been using her image and original content without authorisation while collecting money from people in her name.
“To the girl impersonating me on TikTok, scamming people and also scamming me by taking my content and posting it as if you are me, not as a fan page, I want you to stop,” she said.
Dikeh warned that the consequences would be severe if the individual is apprehended, stressing that she would not withdraw from the case.
“When I catch you, nobody will save you. You will go to jail,” she added.
The actress urged fans to remain vigilant online and to verify accounts before engaging financially, as celebrity impersonation and online scams continue to rise across social media platforms.
