Nollywood actress and media personality Tomike Adeoye has said that although she is naturally friendly and approachable, she does not tolerate being taken for granted.
The actress made the remark while speaking on the Living Boldly with Queen Martins podcast, where she reflected on her career journey, personal values and the challenges of balancing multiple interests.
Refusing to Limit Her Career Path
Adeoye, who studied Microbiology, explained that she deliberately chose not to restrict herself to a single career path despite expectations that professionals should focus on one field.
According to her, the decision to explore other interests, particularly in media and television, came from a desire to express her natural passion for communication.
“In this age and time people will tell you to focus on just one thing,” she said. “I studied microbiology, but I knew there was more to me. I love talking, so I always wanted to be on TV.”
The actress said following her instincts helped her build a career spanning television presenting, acting and digital content creation.
Setting Clear Boundaries
Adeoye also discussed how her cheerful personality sometimes leads people to assume she is overly easygoing.
However, she stressed that she maintains clear boundaries in both her professional and personal life.
“I don’t like people taking me for granted,” she said. “Even though I smile a lot and I’m friendly, I’m also a no-nonsense person.”
She explained that when she notices people becoming too relaxed or disrespectful in professional settings, she does not hesitate to address the situation directly.
Growing Influence in Media
Adeoye has become a familiar face in Nigeria’s entertainment industry through her work as a television presenter, actress and digital creator.
Over the years, she has also built a strong online presence and collaborated with several brands as an influencer, expanding her reach across different media platforms.
