Reality TV personality and Disc Jockey Tolani Baj has shared why she gave up her career in the United States to return to Nigeria.
In a series of Snapchat throwbacks, the Big Brother Naija alumna admitted she struggled with the rigid 9-to-5 work culture in America. According to her, the routine left her unfulfilled and constantly daydreaming about being back home.
“I hated working a 9-5 in America so bad. I would spend months counting down to Detty December. God abeg. My everyday thoughts,” she confessed.
Tolani revealed she often debated whether to remain abroad or move back permanently, but Nigeria always felt like the better choice. She explained that being home gave her more freedom and happiness compared to her U.S. corporate life.
Since her return, Tolani Baj has built a career as a DJ and entertainer while remaining a prominent voice on social media. Her story reflects a growing sentiment among young Nigerians abroad who, despite opportunities overseas, feel drawn to the energy and possibilities back home.
