Everton has emerged as the most recent suitor for Rangers’ standout defender Emmanuel Fernandez, according to latest reports. The 24-year-old’s exceptional performances in the current campaign have caught the eye of several continental heavyweights.
Originally joining the Glasgow giants from English League Two side Peterborough United last summer, the Nigerian international has rapidly transformed into an indispensable asset within the Ibrox backline. During his 21 league appearances for the Light Blues, the center-back has demonstrated a remarkable offensive touch, finding the back of the net five times.
While the Merseyside club is now credited with interest, they face significant competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea. The pursuit also extends into the Bundesliga, where Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayer Leverkusen are all understood to be tracking the defender’s progress. While the Rangers hierarchy is prepared to consider a transfer for Fernandez, they are expected to hold out for a significant valuation in the region of €40 million from any potential buyer.
