Actor and model Tobi Bakre has shared insights on achieving success in the entertainment industry, emphasizing the importance of diligence, professionalism, and consistency.
Speaking on the Menisms Podcast, the 31-year-old advised young actors to approach every task with seriousness, no matter how minor it may seem.
“To our colleagues out there, to our younger ones… it doesn’t matter what you are doing, just do it well,” Bakre said, adding that life-changing opportunities often arise when individuals demonstrate excellence in small roles.
He illustrated his point by noting that he would entrust significant corporate responsibilities to someone in a modest role, such as a car washer, if they displayed exceptional commitment and professionalism.
Bakre, a finalist on Big Brother Naija Season 3, has become one of Nollywood’s highest-grossing actors, earning over N1.4 billion at the box office in 2025. His notable works include lead roles in Gangs of Lagos, Brotherhood—which won him the AMVCA Best Actor in a Drama award—and the series Slum King.
Through his advice, Bakre encourages rising talents to treat every opportunity as a showcase of their abilities, underscoring that consistent effort can open doors to unforeseen success.
