Global Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has unveiled a new non-profit initiative aimed at nurturing the next generation of African music talent.
The singer announced the launch of the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation via Instagram, describing it as a platform designed to equip emerging creatives with education, mentorship, and industry access.
“After years of building globally… It’s time to build at home,” she wrote. “Introducing the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation. A new initiative dedicated to empowering emerging African creatives through access, mentorship and world-class music education.”
Berklee Partnership in Lagos
The foundation’s flagship initiative, Berklee In Nigeria: Tiwa Savage Intensive Music Program, will take place in Lagos from April 23 to April 26, 2026.
The four-day program is being organised in partnership with Berklee College of Music and will host 100 selected participants.
According to details released, the intensive course will focus on music production, songwriting, sound engineering, and the business side of music. Organisers say the curriculum is designed to deliver hands-on training while connecting participants directly with industry professionals.
Free Applications, Full Funding
Applications opened on February 24, 2026, and will close on March 20, 2026. The process is free, and selected participants will receive full funding to attend the program.
The initiative aims to address limited access to quality music education and professional networks, particularly for underrepresented communities across Africa.
By launching the foundation, Savage signals a shift from global career expansion to local industry development, positioning herself not only as an international Afrobeats star but also as a mentor investing in Africa’s creative future.
