Nigerian music superstar Tiwa Savage has finally addressed her long-running feud with fellow singer Seyi Shay, shedding light on the origins of their infamous salon confrontation that made headlines years ago.
Speaking on the Off Air with Gbemi O and Toolz podcast released on Saturday, the “Somebody’s Son” hitmaker revealed that the tension between her and Seyi Shay began after a diss track and rumours that she had allegedly tried to block opportunities for other female artistes in the industry.
Tiwa dismissed the claims, insisting she has always championed women and would never stand in the way of another artiste’s success.
“If you do something to me, I’ll tell you directly, not online. I’m not going to pretend we’re cool when you did a whole diss track about me,” she said.
The singer explained that she was both hurt and confused when she first heard the accusations that she had “blocked bags” for Seyi Shay and Victoria Kimani, describing them as completely false.
“That was painful, and I didn’t know where it was coming from. Till today, maybe I need to have a conversation with Shay,” she added.
Tiwa’s revelation offers a rare glimpse into one of Afrobeats’ most talked-about rivalries, with fans now speculating whether the two artistes might finally reconcile after years of public tension.
