The Rivers State House of Assembly has passed a vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commending his leadership and contributions to the state while calling on him to seek a second term in office.
During its 37th Legislative Sitting on Wednesday, the House unanimously adopted a motion signed by all 26 members, highlighting Tinubu’s commitment to inclusive governance and the appointment of prominent Rivers indigenes to key federal positions.
Leader of the House, Hon. Major Jack, lauded the President’s “fatherly role” and the economic benefits his policies have delivered to the state and local governments. Lawmakers also pointed to ongoing federal projects and appointments that directly benefit their constituents.
Speaker Rt. Hon. Martin Chike Amaewhule described Tinubu as “a compassionate father of the nation,” praising the fulfillment of promises, including the appointment of 39 Rivers sons and daughters to positions of trust at the federal level.
The House concluded by pledging its continued support for the President’s leadership, urging members to engage constituents in promoting the Renewed Hope Agenda and reinforcing the state’s backing for Tinubu’s second-term ambitions.
