As part of his administration’s drive to strengthen international partnerships, President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday received Danish billionaire, Anders Holch Povlsen, in Abuja for talks on boosting trade and investment ties between Nigeria and Denmark.
Povlsen, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Bestseller and Chairman of the Bestseller Foundation, was received at the State House alongside the Ambassador of Denmark to Nigeria, Mr. Jens Bach Hansen, and other officials.
His visit, announced by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, via his official X handle handle, forms part of the Tinubu administration’s ongoing efforts to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) and foster deeper economic relations with global partners.
The Danish billionaire held a closed-door meeting with President Tinubu, joined by senior members of the administration, including the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, and the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani.
The discussions reportedly focused on innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable development initiatives that align with Nigeria’s economic growth agenda.
The Bestseller Foundation, a private philanthropic organization funded by the Danish fashion company Bestseller A/S, supports social and environmental impact projects across West Africa, promoting entrepreneurship and sustainability through ventures that deliver both social and financial returns.
Before meeting President Tinubu, Povlsen and his delegation were received by Gbajabiamila and Tijani for preliminary engagements on potential collaboration areas aimed at advancing inclusive growth and innovation-driven investment in Nigeria.
