President promises continued growth, security, and investment in key sectors as he hosts interfaith breaking of fast at the Presidential Villa….
President Bola Tinubu has declared that Nigeria has successfully navigated its economic challenges, assuring citizens that state governors are no longer forced to borrow from banks to pay salaries.
Speaking on Monday during an interfaith breaking of the fast at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the President highlighted the strides his administration has made in stabilizing the economy and improving financial management across the country.
“I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to serve. The economy has turned the corner. Pensioners are receiving relief, and Nigeria has been saved from bankruptcy. Today, no governor is running around banks to pay workers’ salaries,” he said, according to a statement from his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga.
A Message of Hope and Security
President Tinubu also reassured Nigerians that the nation will not be undermined by agents of instability. Acknowledging the ongoing fight against terrorism, he promised that Nigeria would continue to prevail.
“Yes, we are challenged; terrorists are desperate and leave trails of blood in their wake. But Nigeria will never surrender. We are not discouraged, we will win, and win well,” he said.
The President emphasized that his administration remains committed to investing in critical sectors like agriculture and education, aiming to leave a lasting legacy for future generations while building a safer and more prosperous nation.
Unity and Interfaith Collaboration
The interfaith event brought together traditional and religious leaders from across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. Etsu Nupe Yahaya Abubakar, representing the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and the Sultan of Sokoto, thanked the President for hosting leaders from both major religions, calling it a symbol of unity and peace.
Leaders from the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), including Archbishop Daniel Okoh and Dr. Stephen Baba-Panya of ECWA, pledged the church’s support for the administration’s efforts to strengthen security and transform the economy.
President Tinubu’s address combined reassurance, optimism, and a clear message of national resilience, signaling a government focused on growth, stability, and interfaith unity.
