President Bola Tinubu has extended warm felicitations to the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, on the occasion of his 73rd birthday and 22nd anniversary on the throne.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu hailed the monarch as a patriot and bridge-builder whose reign has been defined by his unwavering commitment to harmony, reconciliation, and national cohesion.
“Etsu Nupe has contributed immensely to nation-building. He has consistently used his revered position to promote unity, harmony, religious tolerance, peace, and reconciliation across the country,” the President said.
Tinubu further commended the monarch’s humility, courage, and wealth of leadership experience, which he has brought to bear in his roles as Chairman of the Abuja National Mosque Management Board and Chairman of the Coordinating Committee of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria.
Born in 1952, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar had a distinguished military career, rising to the rank of Brigadier-General before ascending the throne in 2003 as the 13th Etsu Nupe.
President Tinubu prayed for the monarch’s continued good health, long life, and a reign marked by peace and prosperity for the Nupe Kingdom and Nigeria at large.
