Ahead of his participation in the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), a major global forum on sustainable development and climate action, President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to join world leaders, policymakers and investors shaping conversations on the future of energy transition and inclusive economic growth.
The presidential aircraft landed at the Presidential Wing of Zayed International Airport at 11:30 p.m. local time on Sunday.
President Tinubu was received by the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, the UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, Salem Saeed Al-Shamsi, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar and officials of the Nigerian diplomatic mission in Abu Dhabi.
Other members of the Nigerian delegation, including the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Mohammed Mohammed, later welcomed the President at his hotel.
The President arrived in the UAE from Europe, where he spent part of his end-of-year break and held bilateral engagements with Rwandan President Paul Kagame and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, themed “The Nexus of Next, All Systems Go”, serves as a global platform bringing together world leaders, policymakers, investors and experts to advance discussions on sustainability, climate action, energy transition and inclusive economic growth.
