Nollywood actor and filmmaker Timini Egbuson has released the official trailer for his upcoming romantic drama, Love and New Notes, ahead of its nationwide cinema release scheduled for February 13.
Sharing the trailer on Instagram, Egbuson teased the film’s emotional depth and intrigue. “Every house has its secrets…and love always finds a way out,” he wrote, announcing the project as a presentation under his name.
Directed by Kayode Kasum, Love and New Notes is set in Lagos in 1984 and weaves a story of love, ambition, and complex relationships against the backdrop of a sudden, government-imposed currency change. The historical setting adds tension to the narrative, shaping the characters’ choices and struggles.
The film features a high-profile ensemble cast, including Sophie Alakija, Odunlade Adekola, Eniola Badmus, and Kamo State. Timini Egbuson leads the story as Boma, a young man trying to navigate personal dreams and romantic entanglements amid social and economic uncertainty.
Produced by Muyi Banti, the movie blends romance with drama and suspense, as suggested by the trailer’s tone and pacing. Early glimpses point to a layered story that balances emotional intimacy with wider societal pressures.
Love and New Notes marks another significant step in Egbuson’s growing influence behind the camera, following his earlier production work on the romantic drama Reel Love. With its period setting and strong cast, the film is positioned as one of the notable Nollywood cinema releases this February.
