Popular TikTok content creator Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has announced that he is postponing his plans to attend university, only days after publicly celebrating his admission to study law at a private institution in Lagos State.
Peller disclosed the decision during a live session on TikTok, where he explained that financial realities influenced his choice. According to him, committing to full-time studies would significantly affect his earnings as a digital creator.
The influencer expressed frustration over spending long hours in class without generating income, describing the experience as unsustainable for his current lifestyle.
“I remember I said I am going to school… I am not going again,” he told his viewers, emphasising that the decision was deliberate and final for now.
He recounted a classroom experience where he spent several hours without making money, adding that returning to such a routine was not an option he was willing to accept at this stage of his life.
Peller also noted that he felt out of place among his classmates, describing himself as noticeably younger than most students in the programme. He said the age gap added to his discomfort and reinforced his decision to step back from school.
The content creator suggested that he may reconsider higher education later in life, possibly in his 30s or 40s, when circumstances are more favourable. For now, he said he plans to focus on his online career, which remains his primary source of income.
The announcement marks a sharp reversal from his recent excitement over gaining admission into a law programme. At the time, Peller had responded to critics who questioned his educational background, proudly stating that he was now studying law.
His latest comments have since sparked mixed reactions online, with some supporters applauding his honesty about financial pressures, while others urged him to balance education with his growing digital career.
