Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has praised Chelsea’s new £44 million signing, Geovany Quenda, calling the 18-year-old a “special” and “fearless” talent.
Henry revealed he is a huge admirer of Quenda, who chose Chelsea over Manchester United, despite making his breakthrough under current United boss Ruben Amorim at Sporting CP.
Quenda will remain at Sporting CP until next summer but has already enjoyed a dazzling start to the season, contributing five goal involvements in seven games, including a goal and an assist in Sporting’s 4-1 Champions League win over Kairat Almaty.
“He’s special. The way he goes about what he does, I like it,” Henry told CBS. “He has no fear, you would expect that from a youngster.”
The Portuguese starlet’s fearless style has already drawn comparisons to Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal, with many fans tipping him to become one of Europe’s next breakout stars.
