Thierry Henry has drawn a striking comparison between Chelsea winger Estevao and Manchester United icon Ryan Giggs, following the Brazilian’s standout performance in the Blues’ Champions League victory over Barcelona on Tuesday night.
Estevao was among the scorers in Chelsea’s 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge, with Liam Delap also finding the net before Jules Kounde turned the ball into his own goal to seal the result against the LaLiga giants.
Speaking after the match, Henry praised the 17-year-old’s fearless style of play, noting that it reminded him of Giggs’ relentless wing play during his peak years at Old Trafford.
“You wouldn’t like to play against him,” Henry said.
“He is reminding me of… I know it’s early doors… but that is why I think Ryan Giggs was one of the best, because he was coming at you all game.
“Whether he is having a good game or not, he is trying to test you all the time and see if you are going to stop him or not. That is how it is as a winger.”
The French legend’s comments add to the growing excitement surrounding Estevao, who has quickly become one of Chelsea’s most thrilling attacking prospects.
