Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has revealed his personal selection for the world’s best goalkeepers in an interview with Spanish radio station COPE.
Excluding himself from the list, Courtois identified Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak, Arsenal’s David Raya, and Liverpool’s Alisson Becker as the top three performers currently.
“Currently… Jan Oblak is playing at a very high level this year. I really like Alisson, even though he’s injured. And I also really like David Raya,” Courtois said.
Despite considering himself among the elite in the sport, the Belgian shot-stopper emphasized that his priority remains contributing to Real Madrid’s success and winning major trophies.
“I’m certainly one of the best, but it depends on each person’s taste, and everyone is free to have their opinion,” he added. “Ultimately, what I have to do is help my club, and what people think [is up to them].”
