Nigerian makeup artist and creative entrepreneur Tesglam has officially received her Guinness World Records plaque and medal after confirmation of her 146-hour continuous makeup application marathon held in Lagos.
The record-breaking feat took place at Landmark, where Tesglam applied makeup non-stop for six days on over 200 faces. The marathon drew widespread attention from creatives, beauty enthusiasts, and supporters who followed the challenge both physically and online.
Describing the experience, Tesglam said, “This record represents discipline, faith, and the power of community. What carried me through wasn’t just skill, but the people who showed up, prayed, checked in, and believed. This belongs to all of us.”

She acknowledged the physical and mental toll of the attempt, adding, “There were moments when I was exhausted, but knowing that people believed in me kept me going. Every face I worked on reminded me why I started this journey.”
The Lagos State Commissioner for Youth paid a courtesy visit during the marathon and later congratulated Tesglam after the record was officially confirmed, stating, “She has not only represented Lagos with pride but has also inspired young creatives to pursue excellence on a global stage.”

According to the press release, the Guinness World Records verification process lasted several weeks before culminating in the official plaque unveiling, marking the completion of the validation phase. Tesglam described that moment as deeply symbolic, saying, “Holding the plaque, seeing it confirmed. it’s a tangible reminder that persistence pays off and that dreams nurtured with community support are achievable.”

Tesglam, whose work spans fashion, editorial, commercial campaigns, and creative direction, said her next steps will focus on education, community-driven beauty initiatives, and long-term collaborations to support the growth of Nigeria’s beauty and creative industries.
She added, “I hope to mentor young creatives and create platforms where talent can thrive without borders.”
With Lagos as the backdrop to the achievement, Tesglam’s milestone is being celebrated as both a personal triumph and a moment of pride for Nigeria’s creative industry, underscoring the potential for global recognition built on local talent, consistency, and community support.
