Nollywood actress Teniola Aladese has revealed that she is not open to romantic relationships with fellow actors, stating a clear preference for partners who work behind the scenes in the film industry.
Speaking on the I Said What I Said podcast, Aladese described dating in Lagos as “stressful” and “a very big mess,” despite receiving frequent attention from admirers in her direct messages.
While acknowledging the chaotic nature of the dating environment, she noted that her personal experiences have largely been positive, adding that she has never had a bad date.
According to the actress, she typically decides early whether a relationship has potential, often concluding after the first outing if there will be no further meetings.
Aladese, who began her career in production management before transitioning into acting, gained wider recognition for her role in the Africa Magic series Jemeji. She later won the Trailblazer Award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards in 2022.
Reiterating her stance, she said she would rather date individuals in leadership roles within the industry, such as producers or directors, making it clear that actors are not part of her preferred dating pool.
