Singer Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni Entertainer, says her musical talent serves as a constant reminder of God’s presence. She shared her thoughts during a panel at Entertainment Week Africa, alongside notable artistes including Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Sasha P, Qing Madi, and Waje.
On the topic of authenticity, Teni explained, “I don’t mean to sound proud, but my talent reminds me that God is real. How can I write a song right now? How do these melodies come to me? It reminds me there is a reason I am the way I am, because there are other girls like me who are different.”
She also emphasized the importance of women uplifting one another, noting, “It’s our obligation to show them. As artistes, we expect so much from everybody, but we don’t always learn to give to ourselves.”
Discussing self-love, Teni added, “For me, I have really just loved myself. Loved myself enough to know that whatever this is, it’s still enough until I can make it better.”
Her reflections highlighted both her personal journey and a broader call for female empowerment and authenticity in the Nigerian music industry.
