Afrobeats star Teni has reacted humorously to the ongoing tensions involving Wizkid and Burna Boy, turning the spotlight on the cost of personal security.
Her comments come in the wake of a reported altercation between Burna Boy and DJ Tunez, which has fueled conversations about safety within the music scene.
In a lighthearted video, Teni said she woke up to dozens of missed calls from concerned friends and family urging her to hire protection, specifically referencing the bouncers associated with Kizz Daniel.
She jokingly expressed concern over the financial burden of maintaining such security, noting that the bouncers’ feeding alone could be overwhelming.
Using humour and Pidgin English, the singer suggested that hiring multiple guards could quickly drain her resources, as she exaggerated their large appetites and the recurring cost of upkeep.
Teni also pointed to what she described as growing unrest not only in the Afrobeats scene but in other sectors like Nollywood, playfully questioning where she could find a “safe” space to operate.
Her remarks, though comedic, reflect broader conversations around competition and tensions within Nigeria’s entertainment industry, as artists continue to navigate fame, rivalry, and public scrutiny.
