Nigerian actress Temi Otedola has opened up on the reasons she chose to marry award-winning singer, Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi.
In an interview with the BBC, Temi, who is the daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, described her husband as her closest companion and the one person she wants to build a life with.
“There are so many reasons. First of all, he is my best friend. He is my person, and when you meet your person, you just know. I can’t imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else,” she said.
Temi explained that their bond goes beyond romance, noting that she looks forward to sharing everyday moments, celebrating milestones, and tackling challenges together with Mr Eazi.
On the decision to take her husband’s surname, the actress said it was a matter of personal choice:
“I’m now a married woman. For me, the obvious thing was to take my husband’s name. But I also believe women should be free to choose what works for them.”
She added that choosing to keep their relationship largely private has given her control over her narrative and helped maintain balance between her personal and public life.
Temi Otedola and Mr Eazi exchanged vows a few weeks ago in Iceland, in a ceremony that drew global attention. American music star John Legend performed at the intimate celebration.
