Apo, Lokogoma, Guzape, Asokoro, Wuye, Utako, Jabi, and Idu Industrial Layout to Experience Intermittent Electricity Supply…
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has warned residents in parts of Abuja of a planned electricity disruption lasting more than two weeks due to road construction in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
TCN’s spokesperson, Ndidi Mbah, stated in a Monday announcement that the 132-kilovolt Gwagwalada–Kukwaba–Apo double-circuit transmission line will be without power during the construction period, affecting bulk electricity supply in several key areas.
“The Federal Capital Development Authority will commence road construction works along the Kuje axis from Tuesday, October 28, to Sunday, November 16, 2025. The construction work will impact the 132 kV Gwagwalada-Kukwaba-Apo transmission line,” Mbah said.
Phased Power Outage Schedule
To ensure safety and manage operations, TCN revealed that the outage would be executed in three phases:
- Phase One: Tuesday, October 28 – Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily
- Phase Two: Thursday, November 6 – Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily
- Phase Three: Tuesday, November 12 – Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily
The company assured that power will be restored at the end of each day’s work, minimizing inconvenience where possible.
