Media personality Symply Tacha has weighed in on the ongoing debate around dating expectations, arguing that men should continue to make intentional efforts to impress women in relationships.
Speaking on the CreativiTEA podcast, Tacha dismissed the growing narrative that men “don’t have to impress” women, describing it as inconsistent with the realities of modern dating. She questioned why some men reject the idea of effort while still expecting to take women out, buy gifts, or initiate romantic gestures.
According to her, effort remains a core part of building and sustaining relationships. Tacha noted that the expectation for men to show interest through actions has not disappeared, despite changing conversations around independence and equality.
To further explain her point, she drew parallels from nature, citing how male birds and other animals display effort to attract potential mates. She argued that if such behaviour is instinctive in nature, it should not be controversial among humans.
Tacha also challenged the notion that effort is optional for men while women are still expected to meet certain standards in relationships. She encouraged women to be honest about what they expect and warned against accepting minimal effort under the guise of being “woke” or overly independent.
The media personality concluded by urging both men and women to embrace clarity in their expectations, stressing that genuine effort should never be seen as outdated or unnecessary in romantic relationships.
