Former Big Brother Naija star Natasha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has expressed outrage over the way some Nigerians have responded to actress Regina Daniels’ rape allegations.
In a series of posts on her X (formerly Twitter) account, Tacha criticized the public for ridiculing the actress instead of showing empathy or demanding justice.
“Being a woman in this part of the world feels like a crime,” she wrote.
“Someone cries out that she’s been raped, drugged, and beaten, and instead of outrage, society starts dragging her for flying private jets and traveling the world.”
The reality star condemned what she described as a toxic culture that blames women for their lifestyle choices while excusing acts of violence.
“So because she lived well, she deserves to be abused? That’s the sickness of this society, a place where people justify violence against women but envy their freedom,” she added.
“At this point, what hope does the girl child even have? #ProtectWomen #JusticeForReginaDaniels.”
Tacha’s comments came amid growing reactions to Regina Daniels’ claim that she was drugged and raped, which sparked mixed reactions online.
Another Big Brother Naija alumna, Phyna, also spoke out, lamenting the lack of compassion shown toward victims of sexual assault.
“A girl gets injected and raped in a man’s house, steady hospital yet everybody is laughing. Omo… Being a woman is hard,” Phyna posted.
The conversation continues to ignite widespread debate on social media about gender-based violence, victim-blaming, and the protection of women’s rights in Nigeria.
