A photojournalist has been abducted by suspected bandits in Kaduna State, security authorities have confirmed.
The victim, Umar Iyale, who is reportedly nursing an undisclosed illness, was taken from his residence in the Danhonu II community, Chikun Local Government Area, on Monday night around 9 pm.
Spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the incident, stating that a manhunt has been launched to apprehend the kidnappers and secure Iyale’s release.
He also urged residents of Danhonu and nearby Millennium City to provide any credible information that could assist security forces in the rescue operation.
The abduction marks a setback for Kaduna, where communities have enjoyed relative peace and improved security over the past two years, thanks to the state government’s coordinated efforts with security agencies.
