Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, is still waiting for three key players ahead of Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff against Gabon on Thursday.
The trio – Victor Osimhen, Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, and midfielder Alhassan Yusuf – are yet to join the squad, which is currently based in Rabat, Morocco.
Twenty-one players are already in camp, including Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Tolu Arokodare, Olakunle Olusegun, Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, William Troost-Ekong, Benjamin Frederick, Chidozie Awaziem, and Amas Obasogie.
Other players present include Stanley Nwabali, Semi Ajayi, Ademola Lookman, Akor Adams, Chidera Ejuke, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Raphael Onyedika, Frank Onyeka, Zaidu Sanusi, and Bruno Onyemaechi.
The arrival of Osimhen, Okoye, and Yusuf later today will complete Chelle’s 24-man squad for the crucial two-legged playoff series against the Gabonese Panthers.
