Sunshine Stars head coach, Bobola Akinfolarin, has admitted that his team is not fully ready for the upcoming 2025/26 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
The Akure-based club is currently in Ogun State for pre-season preparations ahead of the league’s kickoff on Saturday, November 8.
Speaking to the club’s media team, Akinfolarin said the players are gradually adapting to his playing philosophy but emphasized that the squad remains a work in progress.
“We’re still a work in progress, but I’m proud of how the boys are responding to our philosophy,” Akinfolarin said.
“Every game gives us a clearer picture of the team we’re building for the coming season. The spirit, discipline, and hunger they showed are exactly what Sunshine Stars stand for.”
Despite acknowledging the need for more fine-tuning, the coach expressed optimism that the team will be ready to compete strongly once the season begins.
