Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris believes Manchester United’s early-season struggles are more about confidence than quality, ahead of his side’s Premier League trip to Old Trafford this weekend.
United have managed just seven points from their opening six games under Ruben Amorim, while Sunderland have impressed on their top-flight return and sit fifth after just one defeat.
“Being at Old Trafford demands a strong personality and strong character,” Le Bris told reporters.
“They are strong, create many chances from everywhere — direct play in behind, set pieces, with talented players. Now it’s just a question of click, confidence, circumstances, scenario.
“For us the only thing we can control is our way of playing, the way we want to face this challenge, being aware that it will be tough.”
The Black Cats head into the match looking to extend their strong start, while United are under pressure to find consistency in front of their home fans.
