Former Big Brother Naija housemate Sultana has commended Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu following a recent meeting focused on the state’s creative sector.
In a post shared on X, the reality TV personality described the governor’s plans to position Cross River as a centre for the creative economy as forward-thinking and impactful. She highlighted key areas such as culture, heritage, and social expression as central to the administration’s agenda.
According to Sultana, the governor stressed the increasing relevance of the creative industry in driving economic growth and shaping future opportunities. She noted that the sector is being prioritised as a major contributor to development.
The former housemate also revealed that the governor expressed openness to collaboration, offering her an opportunity to contribute to promoting tourism in the state. This includes amplifying awareness of the globally recognised Calabar Carnival.
Sultana welcomed the prospect of working together, stating her readiness to use her platform to boost the state’s cultural visibility on the international stage.
She added that the meeting marks the beginning of what she hopes will be a productive partnership aimed at advancing both creative enterprise and tourism in Cross River State.
Her remarks come amid ongoing conversations about the role of Nigeria’s entertainment and cultural industries in national development, particularly as former Big Brother Naija contestants continue to expand their influence beyond television.
