Kwara United technical adviser, Ashifat Suleiman, has praised his players for their determination and discipline following their impressive 3–1 victory over defending champions Remo Stars in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The Harmony Boys secured the win at the Rashidi Yekini Stadium, Ilorin, on Saturday, with Junior Aimufua bagging a brace and Babatunde Bright adding a third. Jabbar Malik scored a stoppage-time consolation for Remo Stars.
Speaking after the match, Suleiman acknowledged that the Sky Blue Stars posed a tough challenge but lauded his team’s response and fighting spirit.
“We had a tough game because we didn’t start well, but we regained ourselves,” Suleiman said.
“A well-done job from the players because they showed determination and discipline in the game.”
The result lifts Kwara United further up the NPFL table as they continue their push for a strong mid-season finish.
