Actress Stella Damasus has pledged to keep the legacy of her late husband, Jaiye Aboderin, alive after accepting a posthumous award on his behalf at the AMAN Awards.
Sharing the moment on Instagram, Damasus posted a video of herself and their daughters receiving the accolade, expressing gratitude for the recognition. She also fondly remembered her late husband, reflecting on the pride she feels in their daughters.
“21 years later, we will continue to keep your legacy alive. I know you’d be so proud of how the girls have turned out. I give all glory to God for giving us two amazing, beautiful, intelligent, and supportive daughters,” Damasus wrote.
She described Jaiye Aboderin as her heartbeat and the father of her children, revealing how deeply she felt his loss. Despite the pain, Damasus emphasised the importance of raising their daughters in a way that honours his memory.
“Jaiyejeje Aboderin, we love you forever and miss you so much. May his soul continue to rest in peace. Thank you to AMAN Awards for honouring him with this posthumous award,” she added.
Two years ago, Damasus marked the 19th anniversary of her husband’s passing, and this latest tribute reinforces her commitment to preserving his memory while celebrating the family they built together.
